Madison RV & Golf Resort Review: Upscale or Just a Stopover?
If you’re searching for an honest review of Madison RV & Golf Resort in Madison and wondering if it’s truly an upscale RV resort — here’s the real story.
It’s marketed as upscale, but in our opinion, it feels more like a clean, safe overnight stop than a luxury destination resort. If you’re traveling through North Florida and need a convenient stop, it works. But if you’re planning a vacation stay and expecting resort-level amenities and atmosphere, you may want to keep looking.
1. The Sites
The RV sites are one of the stronger points here.
✔ Level concrete pads
✔ Easy setup
✔ Functional hookups
✔ Good for big rigs
The pads themselves are solid and level, which always makes arrival easier.
2. Clean But Dated
The resort is clean, and that matters.
✔ Clean private bathhouses
✔ Friendly staff
✔ Safe and quiet environment
But overall, the property feels older and a bit dated.
The roads and grounds are mostly gravel, and the manual sprinkler setup (instead of modern irrigation) adds to that older park feel. It’s maintained, but it doesn’t have that polished upscale resort look.
3. Amenities Matter… But They Were Closed
This was a big factor for us.
The pool was closed.
The golf course was closed.
And for a park with “Golf Resort” in the name, that changes the experience quite a bit.
Those amenities may improve the stay when open, but when they’re unavailable, it feels much more like a pass-through park than a destination.
4. Location
Madison itself is a convenient stop off the highway, but there’s not much here for vacationers.
The downtown area feels a little run-down, and there isn’t much nearby to make this a place you’d want to hang around for several days.
5. Honest Opinion
Here’s the truth:
Would we stop here again for one night while traveling? Yes.
Would we book it as a vacation destination? No.
It appears some RVs are there long-term, which adds to the overall atmosphere and makes it feel less like a resort and more like an extended-stay park.
It’s clean.
It’s safe.
The staff is friendly.
But if you’re specifically looking for a true upscale RV resort experience, this probably isn’t it.
Maybe when the pool and golf course reopen, the experience changes — but for now, we’d call this a functional overnight stop, not a destination resort.
