Cabana Bay RV Resort | Placida, Florida (Near Boca Grande)

If you’ve been searching for a new luxury RV resort near Boca Grande with upscale amenities, wide paver sites, and direct access to Florida’s most scenic coastal trails, Cabana Bay RV Resort in Placida should be on your list. This isn’t an older park trying to update — it’s a thoughtfully designed, newly built Southwest Florida RV destination that feels clean, modern, and elevated from the moment you pull through the gate.

Imagine starting your morning with a bike ride straight from the resort onto a private trail, spending the afternoon on the beaches of Boca Grande, and ending the day poolside at a resort-style clubhouse. That’s the lifestyle Cabana Bay offers.

This is refined RV living — with beaches, biking, boating, and island charm just minutes away.

📍 Location: Placida | Cape Haze | Boca Grande Area

Placida sits in one of the most desirable pockets of Florida’s Southwest Gulf Coast — tucked between Lemon Bay and Boca Grande, surrounded by water, wildlife, and that laid-back coastal energy people come to Florida for.

From the resort, you’re just minutes from:

  • Cape Haze Pioneer Trail — with private gated access directly from the resort (a major perk if you love biking like we do)

  • Lemon Bay for boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, and fishing

  • The pristine Gulf beaches of Boca Grande

  • The scenic 6-mile Boca Grande Rail Trail

  • The natural shoreline and turquoise waters of Gasparilla Island State Park

If you want an RV resort that gives you both tranquility and access to elite coastal experiences, this location truly delivers.

The private bridge connection to the Cape Haze Trail was one of our favorite features. You can bike all the way out to Boca Grande — one of Florida’s most elite and charming island communities. Gorgeous homes, waterfront seafood restaurants, and that refined coastal feel.

Yes, there’s a small $3 per bike charge to cross the Boca Grande bridge — and yes, it’s absolutely worth it.

🚍 The Resort: Clean, Modern & Resort-Style

Cabana Bay recently opened, and everything feels polished and thoughtfully designed.

  • 170 spacious paver-pad full hookup RV sites

  • Gated entry

  • Resort-style pool & hot tub

  • Large clubhouse with kitchen, coffee bar & event space

  • Fitness center (impressive and spacious — A+)

  • Billiards room

  • Pickleball courts

  • Planned daily activities & events

  • Sites available for purchase or nightly/seasonal booking

There’s a beautiful central water feature with a fountain that enhances the landscaping and gives the entire resort an open waterfront feel. (Like many Florida communities, it functions as a water retention pond, but it’s nicely designed and adds to the overall aesthetic.)

While we were there, they hosted a poker/card night and had a food truck onsite. Because it’s still brand new, there wasn’t a huge crowd yet — but you can easily see the strong community vibe forming as more owners buy pads and seasonal guests return.

🏡 Site Requirements

To maintain the upscale aesthetic:

  • RVs must be 10 years old or newer

  • Minimum 24 feet long

  • In good condition

  • No pop-ups, truck campers, or cargo trailers

This helps keep the resort feeling clean, cohesive, and high-end.

🌴 Day Trips & Nearby Adventures

One of the best parts about staying at Cabana Bay is how many great day excursions are nearby.

🚲 Boca Grande

Bike the island, explore the Rail Trail, visit Gasparilla Island State Park, enjoy waterfront seafood, and soak in that elite coastal atmosphere.

🐾 Dog Beach Option

About 40–45 minutes north is Brohard Paw Park, one of the only true dog-friendly beaches on Florida’s Gulf Coast.

🌅 Venice Island & Lunch at Sharky’s

If you’re looking for a fun day excursion, head north to Venice Island and grab lunch at Sharky's On The Pier. It’s a casual, lively beachfront restaurant right at the base of the Venice Fishing Pier — perfect for seafood, tropical drinks, live music, and sunset views. Venice offers a charming, walkable downtown and beautiful Gulf beaches — a great change of scenery during your stay.

🍝 Local Favorite – Nicola's Italian Kitchen

You absolutely have to try Nicola's Italian Kitchen in Englewood. It’s about 12 miles (roughly 18–20 minutes) from the resort and completely worth the drive. This is a true locals’ favorite, and it gets busy — definitely call for a reservation, even on a weekday. Authentic Italian food, lively atmosphere, and the perfect dinner spot after a beach or bike day. The absolute best Italian and if you love bread … they bring out buttery, parmesan-topped knots that are absolutely to die for.

⭐ Honest Opinion

Cabana Bay RV Resort delivers a true luxury RV resort experience in Placida near Boca Grande. The gym was one of the better ones we’ve seen at an RV resort, the pool and hot tub area are beautiful, and the entire property feels fresh, clean, and upscale.

The one downside right now is that because it’s so new, there simply aren’t a lot of people staying there yet. If you’re someone who loves a busy, highly social RV community, it may feel a little quiet at the moment. That said, you can clearly see the potential — as more sites sell and seasonal guests return, the community vibe will naturally grow. The beach is not far but, you would need to drive or bike there.

One of our absolute favorite features was the private bridge access to the Cape Haze Pioneer Trail. Since we love to bike, this was a highlight. The trail runs all the way to Boca Grande — and if you haven’t been, it’s truly one of Florida’s most elite and charming island communities. Beautiful homes, waterfront seafood restaurants, peaceful streets, and that unmistakable luxury-coastal feel.

Yes, there’s a small $3 per bike charge to cross the Boca Grande bridge — but it’s absolutely worth it.

If you’re looking for modern Southwest Florida RV resort living with beautiful beaches, private trail access, upscale amenities, and great dining nearby, Cabana Bay RV Resort deserves a serious look.
